QuaichA quaich is a traditional Scottish drinking vessel. This silver example, dated 1770, was made in Inverness by Charles Jamieson. The side is engraved, 'Gift Kath McKenzie to Geo Tuach 1770'. The handles or 'lugs' are engraved, 'Geo Tuach 1789' and 'Ann McLea'. The name quaich probably comes from the Gaelic 'cuach' meaning cup.
