Oval locomotive works plate, blue-grey, marked `HURST, NELSON & Co LTD. / BUILDERS / MOTHERWELL`, 19th century

The main centres of railway production in Scotland were Glasgow and Kilmarnock, with others in Dundee, Airdrie and Motherwell. Goods were exported to Africa, India, South America, Australia and New Zealand.
