CompassThis surveying compass was made by B. Cole of London and dates from between 1750 and 1775. The glass-covered dial is set into a hinged wooden frame which can be folded up to protect the compass. The centre of the dial has the maker's name 'B. Cole, maker at No. 136 Fleet Street London'.
