Seal matrix, of convent of Whithorn

This seal matrix of the convent of Whithorn was found in the garden at Soulseat in Wigtownshire in 1891. Made of brass, the matrix dates from the 14th century.

The matrix depicts the Agnus Dei (Lamb of God) with a chalice beneath its breast.
