Bicycle, Aero Special
This ladies' bicycle was made by Rudge-Whitworth of Coventry in England. It dates from around 1910. The model name is 'Aero Special'.
The bicycle is painted black with gold pin stripes. The lettering 'No 2 AERO SPECIAL' appears above the Rudge-Whitworth badge on the headstock. The lettering 'RUDGE-WHITWORTH, BRITAINS BEST BICYCLE, SPECIALLY APPOINTED, HM THE KING' appears on the top tube and on the oil bath chaincase. The frame number 788605 is stamped on the right-hand side of the seat tube. The handlebars, cranks and pedal spindles are all celluloid covered. It incorporates a fully enclosed chain case.
