Bicycle

This gentleman's bicycle was made by Fabrique Nationale of Liege in Belgium. It dates from around 1918. F.N. were a Belgian arms manufacturer who also produced motorcycles.

The bicycle is shaft-driven via bevel gears. The alloy badge on the head tube is stamped 'FABRIQUE NATIONALE dARMES de GUERRE HERSTAL'. The torque arm for the back pedal rear brake is marked 'MAP', while the leather saddle is marked 'MEILLEUIE 116'. The serial number is 22247.
