Earthenware soup tureen

This earthenware tureen belonged to the family of Samuel Coulters, a Glasgow merchant. It was presented to the family in 1842 by John Thomson of Annfield Pottery in Glasgow's Gallowgate.

The tureen bears a transfer-printed rural scene.

Annfield Pottery operated from around 1816 to 1887.
