Bowl (2 of 2)

This maiolica bowl was made around 1524 at Faenza in Italy. This photograph shows the underside.

The underside has the initials 'B O' incised and is decorated with a floriated stars and a cross, circle and pellet. The mark may indicate that the bowl was made by the dalle Palle family of potters, recorded in Faenza from 1502.
