Spade (parts)
These two pieces of iron were part of a shoe for a wooden spade. They were found at Urquhart Castle near Drumnadrochit in Inverness-shire. They date from between the 13th and 17th century.
The inner edge of the shoe forms a v-section into which the wooden frame would fit.
