This ceramic teapot with 'Rockingham' or brown glaze was made by Murray and Company of the Caledonian Pottery Rutherglen in Glasgow. It dates from between 1872 and 1929.
The teapot is barrel-shaped and has a handle in the form of a branch.
Another company well known for producing 'Rockingham' or brown glazed teapots was Belfield and Company of Prestonpans. Such teapots were known as 'Broon Coos'.
