Thistle cup made in Edinburgh, 1706-07

This silver thistle cup was made in 1706-7 by Alexander Kincaid, a silversmith in Edinburgh. Thistle cups - so called because of their shape - were unique to Scotland.

The side of the cup opposite the handle is inscribed 'IM'.
