Soup plateThis earthenware soup plate was made between 1833 and 1838 by George Gordon of Prestonpans in East Lothian. The plate is transfer printed with a version of the blue willow pattern. It is marked 'Geo Gordon, / Crown'. From 1750 onwards, large-scale potteries were established on the south side of the Firth of Forth, at Prestonpans, Prestongrange, West Pans, Musselburgh and Portobello.
