Brooch (piece), believed to have been used as charmThis piece of an octagonal Highland ring brooch was found on a battlefield at Falkirk in Stirlingshire. It dates from the 16th or 17th century and is believed to have been used as a charm. Made of brass, the flat ring is divided into compartments in which grotesque animals and a simple fan motif alternate. The back is plain.
