Drug jar

This maiolica drug jar was made between 1480 and 1490 in Italy, possibly at Pesaro.

The squat jar is painted in colours with a band of trellis and star motifs, an inscription 'a depinpinella' ['aniseed water'] and a band of peacock feather ornament.
