Ironwork panelThis wrought ironwork panel, probably for a gate, was made by the Edinburgh blacksmith firm of Thomas Hadden. It dates from the late 19th or early 20th century. The square shaped panel has a thistle and leaves in the centre. In the late 19th and early 20th century there was a revival in the use of wrought iron, especially as architectural decoration. Scottish firms like Thomas Hadden's underwent a revival due to increasing interest in Scottish styles and workmanship of wrought iron.
