PlateThis transfer-printed earthenware plate was made by the Glasgow potters, J. & M.P. Bell & Company. It dates from between 1842 and 1880. The pattern is called 'TRIUMPHAL CAR'. The centre shows a classical landscape with a Roman soldier mounting a chariot. The border pattern includes panels containing dolphin fountains and cupids in chariots, drawn by leopards.
