Soup plateThis transfer-printed earthenware soup plate was exported to South East Asia by the Glasgow potters, J. and M.P. Bell and Company. It dates from between 1842 and 1880. The pattern is called 'DEHLI'. The plate's centre shows a group of figures with horses and an elephant on a river bank. Bells started exporting by the 1860s.
