Door handle & tirling pin

Tirling pins were fitted on town house doors. They consisted of a ring and a serrated rod, along which the ring could be rattled. This combined door handle and tirling pin comes from Netherbow Port in Edinburgh. It is made of iron and dates from the 17th century.
