A crusie is a form of oil lamp. This painted and glazed earthenware example comes from Italy and dates from the mid 20th century.
The outside of the pan is decorated with green and brown leaves, while the enclosed top is white with two brown, yellow and blue dragons. The lid is upright and joined to the back with a grey imitation metal fastening. There is an enclosed reservoir and a brass wire for suspension. Printed on the underside of base is `SALVINI /ITALY'.
