made in England
This pair of pewter candlesticks were made in England, probably in the 18th century.
The two moulded ring collars on the stem of each candleholder, the rim of the drip pan and the base are decorated with ropework motifs. Both candleholders have a brass pusher stamped `R' on the base, used for raising the candles in the sockets as they burned down.
