Centrepiece, with view of Walter Scott Monument, EdinburghThis glass centre-piece was made in around 1870, possibly at Bathgate Glassworks in West Lothian. It is engraved with a view of the Walter Scott Monument in Edinburgh. The engraving was probably done by an Italian or Bohemian employee of the glassworks. After Walter Scott's death in 1832, a public subscription was raised to build an appropriate monument for the 'Wizard of the North'.
