Glazed earthenware container in the form of a toadThis glazed earthenware container in the form of a toad was made by Peter Gardner's Dunmore Pottery in Falkirk district. It is based on a Chinese original. Turquoise glazed earthenware vase standing on three legs, with the body in the shape of a toad, Dunmore, Falkirk, Stirlingshire, between 1860 and 1910 Peter Gardner took over his father's small redware pottery in 1860 and immediately began to develop new ranges of fashionable wares.
