The woman on the left has a lace handkerchief in her hand. The seated woman is wearing a bonnet trimmed with purple flowers.
Madame de Closmenil was responsible for many fashion plates in Le Petit Courrier des Dames. She also produced plates for Le Journal des Demoiselles, La Mode and Le Bon Ton. She sometimes shortened her signature to 'Florensa'.
