This is the reverse of a silver medal of Benjamin Mackay's Latin Academy in Edinburgh. The medal was made by Edinburgh silversmiths W. & P. Cunningham and awarded to William Seller in 1814.
The reverse has a Latin inscription, which relates that William Seller was given the medal for merit in Latin and Greek literature.
William Seller later became a lecturer in Materia Medica at the University of Edinburgh.
