Coin (obverse), penny, from reign of Charles I
This is the obverse of a copper penny minted in Edinburgh between 1629 and 1631, during the reign of Charles I.
The obverse has a thistle. The Latin inscription translates as: 'Charles, by the Grace of God, King of Great Britain'.
