This one pound Bank of Scotland banknote was issued on the 2nd of November 1833. Made payable to George Sandy, the note is signed by P. Stevenson and Thomson Bonar. The note is numbered 64/143.

One-pound banknote, Bank of Scotland, 2 November 1833

The Bank of Scotland was Scotland's first bank (established in 1695). It was constituted by an act of the Scottish Parliament, ensuring that the bank would be the only one in Scotland for the next 21 years. After that time, other banks were created.
