Finger ringThis enamelled bronze finger ring was found at the native hillfort settlement at Traprain Law in East Lothian. It was an expensive piece of jewellery, made sometime between 80 and 200 AD. The finger ring, here shown from above, has a circular bezel and an inlay of blue enamel with white spots. It is damaged around the edges. The large defended hillfort at Traprain Law was an important site in Iron Age Scotland. A large number of Roman and native objects have been found from there, showing that the native population prospered in its contacts with the Romans.
