Axehead of bronzeThis bronze axehead was found at Adabrock on Lewis in the Outer Hebrides in a hoard of tools, weapons, vessel fragments and beads. The hoard was buried between 950 and 750 BC. Bronze socketed axe from Adabrock, Lewis Although this axehead may well have been made in Scotland, other items in the Adabrock hoard had been imported from Ireland and the Continent, or copied from foreign prototypes.
