Add to albumThis bronze axehead was found at Cornhill-on-Tweed in Berwickshire. It was probably made in Ireland between 2250 and 1900 BC.
The surface of the axehead is decorated with short punched marks.
The long-standing links between Ireland and Scotland brought many Irish objects and ideas to Scotland, including prestigious axeheads such as this one.
