From Gordon Moss, Berwickshire
This flint axehead was found at Gordon Moss in Berwickshire. It was a ceremonial, prestigious item, rather than a utilitarian axehead, used sometime between 3800 and 1800 BC.
The axehead is partly polished.
Some axeheads were symbols of power and prestige for a long period, probably with religious significance as well.
