Flagon, made in LeithThis glass wine flagon was probably made in Leith in the late 18th or early 19th century. The flagon has 'DM Customs' moulded on the shoulder. Large amounts of wine, brandy, sherry and port were imported into Scotland, particularly by the Edinburgh wine merchants. Wine was transferred from barrels into bottles and this stimulated a thriving glass industry round the port of Leith near Edinburgh.
