This New Testament bible dates from the 19th century. It has wooden covers with a view of the Pass of Killiecrankie in Perthshire on the front, and of Scone Palace, also in Perthshire, on the back.
The bible has a leather spine and boards of varnished wood bearing transfer pictures of the Pass of Killiecrankie and Scone Palace.
19th-century wooden souvenirs, which were produced in vast quantities, often featured images of local views. They are a permanent record of the holiday journeys made in Scotland, and of the images which, for the holidaymakers, represented Scotland.
