This silver teapot was made in 1879-80 by S. Gordon Guild, a silversmith in Edinburgh. It is part of a three-piece tea set.
The body of the circular, straight-sided teapot is divided into six panels. The decoration in the panels includes a Chinaman in a garden, a diving bird, a Chinaman beside a pagoda, and a bird standing on one leg. The handle has ivory insulating rings.
