Tankard, made in Edinburgh

This silver tankard was made in 1697-8 by Robert Bruce, a silversmith in Edinburgh.

The tankard has a lid, straight sides tapering to the top, and a spreading cushioned foot. The body has plain moulding at the rim and around the middle, and a wide band of 'cut card' above the base.
