From Tantallon Castle, East Lothian
This stone cannon-ball was found under the cliff on the north-east side of Tantallon Castle in East Lothian. It dates from the 15th or 16th century.

Dating from the mid-14th century, Tantallon Castle may have been built by William, 1st Earl of Douglas. It was strengthened in the 1530s by James V, but was largely destroyed in 1651 by a besieging Cromwellian army led by General Monk.
