Gun

The barrel of the gun (below) dates from 1589. The gun's stock and lock are Spanish and date from the 18th century.

The barrel of the gun is engraved and inlaid with copper and silver and dated 1589.

The Scottish makers of firearms, swords and daggers were skilled craftsmen who produced striking examples of the Scottish Renaissance style. Such weapons were highly regarded and sought after by foreigners.
