DirkThe Highland dirk was an all-purpose implement which evolved from the medieval dagger. This example dates from the late 18th century. The dirk has a plain sheath, a carved wooden hilt and silver mounts. It is engraved with the owners initials 'DR'. Dirks could be tools, utensils for eating, and weapons.
