Framed panel of carved oak

This is one of five framed oak panels, carved with scriptural subjects, from Lanfine House at Sornhill in Ayrshire. The panels are Dutch and date from the 16th century.

The panel depicts Aaron's rod being changed to a serpent in the crossing of the Red Sea. The scene appears in the Book of Exodus in the Old Testament.
