This necklace was designed by Phoebe Traquair between 1917 and 1918.
There are five plaques in enamel on copper, set in gold with gold and enamel links.
Phoebe Traquair, 1852-1936, worked as an artist in several materials. Her talents included book illumination, jewellery and enamels, embroidery and painting. She was the first woman to be made a member of the Royal Scottish Academy in 1920.
