Mazer, associated with the Earls of Galloway

This silver gilt and maplewood mazer was made by James Gray of the Canongate in Edinburgh in 1569 for Archibald Stewart, later Provost of Edinburgh, and his wife. It was later inherited by the Earls of Galloway.
