Brass wall sconce entitled `Night`, made in Glasgow
A sconce is a bracket fixed to a wall for holding candles or lights. This early 20th-century example was made by Marion Henderson Wilson in Glasgow. It is made of brass.
The sconce is entitled 'Night' and is decorated with an elongated female head surrounded by stars, with hearts on the cornice above. Two riveted straps project below the bottom of the panel to hold the candle-holder and pan.
