This pottery bowl was found in a chambered cairn at Clachaig on Arran. This type of bowl probably originated in northwest France, and spread to Scotland from there. The style was adopted and adapted in Ireland as well.

The links between Ireland and Scotland can be traced back to at least the time of the earliest farmers. Objects and ideas moved in both directions.
