Communion cup

This pair of Britannia metal communion cups date from the 19th century.

The cups are engraved on one side with the monogram 'IHS' - the first three letters of the name 'Jesus' in Latin, and a common Christian emblem. On the other side are the coat-of-arms, crest and motto - 'This I'll defend' - of the Macfarlanes of Arrochar in Argyllshire.
