Trowel presented to Keir Hardie

This trowel was presented to J. Keir Hardie, M.P., by the Independent Labour Party of North Belfast I.L.P. when he laid the foundation stone of their new hall at Langley Street on the 5th of June 1909.

This trowel has a silver plated triangular blade and a handle of bone.

James Kier Hardie, 1856-1915, was a founding member and chairman of the Independent Labour Party between 1893 and 1900.
