Razor of bronze
Add to album

This large bronze razor was found at Kinleith in Midlothian. It was probably imported from Central Europe between 750 and 450 BC.

The razor is corroded and chipped at the edges, but otherwise is in good condition.

Bronze razors were used as prestigious shaving gear from the early 2nd millennium BC onwards. As an exotic Continental import, this one would have been particularly fashionable and valuable.
