made in Florence, Italy
This maiolica plate was made at the Cantagalli factory in Florence in Italy in the early 20th century.
The tin-glazed plate is painted in blue and olive-green with a hilly landscape with two towers on a bridge.
The Cantagalli factory was one of the many factories that specialised in producing 16th-century imitations in the second half of the 19th century. The factory was founded by Ulisse and Giuseppe Cantagalli and is still in production today.
