Add to album

This earthenware plaque was made in the late 19th century at Peter Gardner's pottery at Dunmore in Stirlingshire.

The circular plaque has a blue lyre bird design and a hollow circular foot.

Peter Gardner took over his father's small redware pottery in 1860 and immediately began to develop new ranges of fashionable wares. The pottery was supported by the local landowners the Earl and Countess of Dunmore.
