Caudle cups
This is a pair of silver gilt 'caudle cups'. Caudle was a hot spiced wine drink made with gruel and originally used medicinally. The cups were made sometime after 1791 by Robert Keay, a silversmith in Perth.
Each cup has a bulbous body, a cover with an acorn finial, and a pair of S-shaped handles. Both the cover and the body of the cups have gilt interiors.
