Made in Inverness
This silver mug was made by the Inverness silversmith John Baillie. It dates from around 1740.

Inverness craftsmen used a variety of town marks including simple contractions such as INS or INVS. From the mid 18th century the mark of a camel starts to appear. The camel was taken from the town coat of arms.
