Dish

This maiolica dish was made in the early 18th century at Savona in Italy, perhaps at the Chiodo workshop.

The dish is painted in colours on white with landscape sketches with men, dogs and a hare. It has a gadrooned border with leaves and pods. On the underside is a lighthouse surmounted by a cross with a projecting rope on its base.

The lantern mark was used by several factories working in Albisola, including the Grosso pottery and the Chiodo and Corroda factories.
